Western Australian households have never had access to this level of support for home batteries — and for the first time, two major rebate schemes are running side by side.
On one hand, there’s the WA Government solar battery rebate, designed to reduce upfront costs and improve grid stability. On the other, there’s the federal battery rebate, available nationwide and based on the size of the battery you install.
They’re funded separately, administered by different bodies, and have distinct eligibility requirements. But when used together, they offer a unique opportunity to make battery storage far more affordable especially for homes that already have rooftop solar.
In short: the WA battery rebate and federal solar battery rebate can work together, and understanding how they differ is the first step to maximising your savings.

⚠️ WA rebates are capped at 10 kWh. For batteries larger than 10 kWh, you’ll still only receive a maximum of $1,300 (Synergy) or $3,800 (Horizon Power).

By 1 July 2025, the WA Government will be offering rebates for residential batteries of up to $1,300 for Synergy customers ($130 per kWh of battery capacity) and up to $3,800 for Horizon Power customers ($380 per kWh of battery capacity).
